José Luis Largo was born in Madrid. He gained a Master in Fine Art at Geneva University of Art and Design.

A professional illustrator, graphic designer and printmaker for more than twenty years, he has been a regular contributor to El País, Le Temps, Cuadernos Hispanoamericanos, Diario 16, La Luna de Madrid, La Tribune de Genève, Le Journal de Genève, Revista Mu, Cambio 16, El Urogallo and Claves de Razón Práctica. Other clients include; Barcelona 92, UFO Jeans and Jackets, Grey Switzerland and Radio Ella.

He has also illustrated a number of books, including an edition of:
- Oscar Wilde’s "The Picture of Dorian Gray (Editorial Anaya),
- John Mead Falkner’s "Moonfleet" (Editorial Anaya)
- César Vallejo’s "The Black Heralds & Other Selected Poems" (Ediciones de la Torre).
 
He lives and works in Geneva and in Madrid.
